Noble Studio is a Raleigh based design firm dedicated to creating alluring and deeply personal spaces inspired by the people who use them.
Compelled by our obsession with creating a sense of place and mood rather than just making a pretty room, we are endlessly pursuing the alchemical magic that comes from turning thousands of technical decisions into something profound. We never tire of the thrill of seeing the raw building blocks of design (composition, scale, light, color, flow, volume, texture, pattern) become genuine, moving spaces that our clients cherish.
Our firm is especially concerned with creating spaces that will translate in a relevant way across time, starting with a palette of pieces and materials that are soulful. We look to historical influences as well as present inspiration and take our cues from the context of our clients lives and loves. We are drawn to creating moments of interesting tension and juxtaposition, believing that the most enduring and current-feeling spaces are intelligent curations of old and new, gloss and grit, side by side.
Founded originally in 2018 as Kate Haynes Interiors and reborn in 2023 as Noble Studio, Kate has been honing a fascination with spaces, architecture and art since childhood. Though her degree gave her a foundational education in design, it was hands on experience in the industry that sparked her love of process. Her company has always been about beautiful spaces (naturally), but the rebirth as Noble Studio comes with a sense of matured intentionality to create quiet luxury for our clients.
We resonate with clients who want a guide who can take them where they cannot go alone, with the result being a fearless, soulfully elevated space- full of good tension, rooted deeply in authenticity, and hopefully transcending time just a bit. Kate brings to her team a relentless commitment to the intangible result of joy present in the aesthetics and flow of a place, no matter what style it wears.
Kate Haynes
Founder + Creative Director, Allied ASID
Kate is the founder and principal designer of Noble Studio Interiors. Her formal design education, combined with an insatiable curiosity and drive to improve, has shaped a career grounded in both creativity and technical precision. With a background in design-build, she’s as comfortable on job sites and in construction meetings as she is developing concepts in the studio—bringing a clear understanding of how great design gets executed from start to finish.
Kate’s passion for design took root in her teenage years and never left. After beginning her career in the design-build world, she stepped away to be a full-time mom to her four children. In 2018, she launched the firm—determined to return to the work she loved, while building a business that could support both her creative ambitions and the realities of family life.
Since then, she’s grown Noble Studio into an architecturally driven practice known for its thoughtful process and timeless, highly personal spaces. When she’s not in the studio, Kate is often on the move—working from her laptop, listening to podcasts, running, or chasing inspiration (and her four kids) wherever it leads.
Erin O’Connell
Designer
Erin is an interior designer with over four years of experience in high end residential design. She brings a strong sense of organization and attention to detail to every project. She is a project manager at heart and enjoys working closely with builders and trades to ensure that design intent is clearly communicated and well-executed.
Her design approach is thoughtful- centered on creating spaces that are client centered, functional, and approachable. Even though she is fairly new to Raleigh, (she’s a native Long Islander but recently joining us from Richmond) Erin keeps the rest of us updated on where we should be making reservations for dinner, or sharing other super fun things we had literally no idea were happening in our town.
Rashal Turnbull
Studio Director and Financial Coordinator
Rashal is our studio director, with over a decade of experience in finance and operations. She keeps projects (and people) on track with precision and ease, handling finance and operations for our team. She’s a problem-solver by nature, a systems thinker by trade, and a firm believer that her contribution to good design is to support great execution.
When she’s not streamlining workflows, she’s enjoying iced decaf coffee or Mexican food, nurturing an unusual obsession with her lawn, and spending time with her husband and daughter—along with her two ever-present pups.
